Sea Camp Sail Staff

One of our most popular programs at Catalina Sea Camp is our Sail Program. We seek instructors that have a sailing background in all types of boats, primarily dinghy sailing. Some of our instructors are certified by the American Sailing Association (ASA) and US Sailing. Our classes range from Basic Sailing in Lasers, to Intermediate Sailing in Vanguard 420s, to Coastal Cruising aboard our 22ft keelboat. We even offer Board Sailing/Windsurfing classes too. Aside from amazing wind and sailing fun, Catalina Sea Camp provides on-site room and board, plus salary. Employment runs from early June to mid August.

An excellent opportunity for personal growth exists at Catalina Sea Camp. You can teach/assist classes you've never taught before, and work with boats that you may not have had the opportunity to sail before. We also train you how to operate different types of safety powerboats, as well as certify you as a lifeguard and in CPR (if not already certified).

At the Toyon Bay Yacht Club (TBYC) we aren't only sailing, we go wild and have fun. You will get the chance to dress up, plan elective nights, be loud, dance, and go by an alter ego all summer long. The quality of staff we have had is remarkable and our expectations are very high. At Catalina Sea Camp the hours can be long and, at times difficult, but the chance to positively impact and influence a large number of children always exists. If these are things that excite and interest you, we encourage you to apply.
