Sydney Hamilton
Catalina Sea Camp Summer Camp Director - Toyon Bay
I’ve been coming to Catalina Island since before I could walk, and it’s always felt like a second home to me. I started attending Catalina Sea Camp when I was 12 and over the years, it’s been where I met my best friends and learned the values that have shaped who I am today.
Since 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working at Sea Camp in various roles, beginning as a counselor. I then moved on to Crew Captain, Head Counselor, and in 2024, I became the Assistant Camp Director. Each step has deepened my love for camp and strengthened my commitment to creating transformative experiences for campers. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s in education from Texas Christian University, and I’m passionate about helping others grow in a fun, supportive environment.
When I’m not at camp, you’ll find me traveling, sailing, enjoying the outdoors, or indulging in some chocolate!
Catalina Sea Camp is a place that’s close to my heart, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of its incredible legacy and help shape the future of campers every year.
“All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.”
